Levanger is a rural town located about an hour’s drive north of Trondheim, known for its high-quality agricultural land and several local food specialties. The building’s function has been transformed from an electronics store into a country store, serving as a gastronomic hub for local food producers in Levanger and the surrounding municipalities. It operates as both a market and a food court, where customers can observe how products are prepared through an open kitchen.
The second floor houses an apartment for a family with five children. The building, originally constructed in 1897, features an extension from the 1980s. This contrast between the historic and the modern is highlighted and accentuated throughout the project, creating a unique architectural experience.
The project was part of the transformation studio course at NTNU, fourth semester.
